Inventory & Equipment
All characters have inventory space represented by designated slots.
Twenty-one pack slots. To carry stowed items like treasure and rations, or less frequently used gear, like rope and crowbars. Items in the pack take about a minute to retrieve.
Two hand slots. For the items a character is currently carrying, like weapons, shields, and light sources.
Five belt slots. To carry items that are easily accessible and used often, like extra weapons, light sources, and lockpicks. Items on the belt take seconds to retrieve.
Worn armor. Wearing armor occupies both belt and pack slots, depending on the bulk and type.
Tracking the bulk and size of items—represented by slots—is more important than tracking an item’s weight.
Items that can be held in one hand occupy 1 slot (100 coins).
Some items can be stacked—the whole group of items takes up one slot. The amount of items in a stack varies; see the description of the item for full details. For example, a quiver of arrows fit 12 to a slot.
Anything that can be held in two hands takes up 2 slots.
Oversized items take up 2 slots and can only be carried on your belt.
Bulky items cannot be stowed and must be held in hand or dropped.
