Needs

Characters have basic needs that must be met to prevent death.

Food & Water

You must consume one ration of food and water each day, with each ration occupying one pack slot.

Every 8 hours without eating or drinking, you accrue 1 stress.

Consuming a ration of food or water removes all stress accrued from starvation or dehydration, allowing you to stretch your supplies if necessary.

Sleep

You must sleep for 6–8 hours every 24 hours.

After 24 waking hours, you accrue 2 stress. Each additional 8 hours awake accrues 2 more stress.

Unlike hunger and thirst, sleep-related stress cannot be recovered until all sleep debt has been made up.

Warmth

You must not be freezing.

Proper clothing can help stave off the cold, but some environments are too cold to survive without shelter.

It is common for humans to stay inside for the entire course of the harsh winter months.

The GM will provide further details if extreme cold becomes relevant to the campaign.
